What’s the best thing about Asilomar? Everything – it’s an experience.

There’s a reason why people come back to our Asilomar event year after year. There’s a connection there that you feel way past the time you finish the vacation.  Think about how energized you can feel after a Sunday with your New Thought community/family and then multiply that by 100!

The very energy that goes in to pulling the event together is magnificent. The visioning, the creative development of the programs, the attention to details is endless; and that’s why it turns out so delicious!

It’s an event that can gift a lifetime of memories and a heart full of love. It’s an event that when we open to the possibilities, we can make huge steps in our consciousness.  It’s a way to fill up our vessel, so we can share from the overflow. Whew! Look out Pacific Grove…here we come!

Ernest Holmes knew where to go for relaxation

As I have stood looking over the landscape of Asilomar or felt a slight mist of ocean breeze, I have often thought of this great founder of ours, Ernest Holmes. It’s really easy to sense his presence at Asilomar. It’s also very easy to recognize the energy that drew him time and time again to this magnificent location: one of relaxation, celebration, meditation, peace, and a place that allows you to break away and go within.

It’s not just the Asilomar grounds, but also the surrounding area.  I’m a person that takes life a little slower-most of the time- and certainly with a grain of salt.  The Monterey/ Asilomar area has me taking the opportunity to just breathe in the air and be – many times throughout the day.

At the same time, I thoroughly enjoy the Wednesday that the event holds open so friends and family can take the opportunity to tour the surrounding area. Here are a few things that will be going on during that time frame that are close by:

Sixty days and counting!

Can you believe it? Only sixty more days! That’s eight weeks from now! Only two more full moons until it’ll be time to go to Asilomar 2011!

Ok. Can you tell that I’m excited about this year at Asilomar?  It is one of the most beautiful places on this planet. So many remarkable New Thought teachers have said “yes” to our request of their sharing the depth of what they know and believe. With a choice of selecting the week of July 31-August 6th ,  OR the week of August 7th- August 13th, your choice will be perfect, as each week has an incredible line-up! You might want to find a way to attend both weeks!

If you’re asking yourself, for any reason, should I go this year? The answer is a resounding YES! Don’t wait another minute. Sign up now at   https://events.csl.org/  , need some help in filling out the form? Call me at 303-507-2680. This is an event that will supply memories for a long, long time to come.

Practitioner Community Conference in Ashville, NC

Annie Glasgow just came back from the Practitioner’s Community Conference, held last week in Ashville, NC. After listening to Annie talk about the community formed, the Taize service and the Fire Walk, plus Annie’s passion on the overall event, I had tears that could not be held back.

Congratulations to Camille Conte and the Practitioner Core, the Waterhouse’s for hosting and all those individuals who made this event such a huge success!

Mark Your Calendars! 2012 Annual Spiritual Living Convention:

When:  February 12-17, 2012

Where:  NOLA     New Orleans, Louisiana

The wheels have been set in motion for our convention in New Orleans and the preparation plans started to come together in a most magical way! Visioning was first on the agenda, and Deborah Gauvreau facilitated a magnificent heart space that brought many insights almost immediately.

It seems like a huge order: We will be voting for the new Spiritual Leader and President. In addition, there will be 23 other positions and a few amendments that will be voted on. Whew! Luckily we have the two Steves at the helm once again (Steve Burton and Steve Gabrielson) for the voting process – so all is well. In comparison to the San Diego voting process, this should be a walk in the park?!

But, oh my gosh, are you in for a treat. The food and customer service is over the moon in New Orleans! Mr. Jamie Munoz, the General Manager of Bourbon House on Bourbon Street, was among many who were very vocal to visitors about the appreciation for the support to the rebuilding  of New Orleans.  Here’s one of their recipes…yummmm!  http://www.bourbonhouse.com/recipes-bourbon-house/11-barbeque-shrimp.html

We’re going to be staying at the Sheraton Inn New Orleans on Canal Street  http://www.sheratonneworleans.com/ , which is within walking distance of the French Quarter, Palace Café and Café Du Monde…by the way, walking is the saving grace to help with the calories consumed! There are also fast food spots such as Arby’s, right across the street.

As things develop in the upcoming months, I will keep you informed, so stay tuned!

Every Event has me sitting in amazement for the musicians that come forward. Their dedication and seemingly endless energy make the week long music production seem flawless. Asilomar this year will be no exception! The co-chairs are Lisa Ferraro and Karen Drucker. Both are accomplished artists that give generously to our organization. Here are a couple of their video clips:
